Doris Craddock, 5166 South Parkway was hostess the Sixteen Sirens club Sunday afternoon April 25, 1934.

The A.K.A. Annual Vocational Guidance conference and Lyceum were held on Saturday and Sunday before May 31 1936 repectively. The Conference was at Poro College. Theta Omega was helping High School girls to find a vocation. Mrs. Thelma Kirkpatrick was the chairman of the Vocation Guidance committee. Miss Doris Craddock was chairman of the undergraduate chapter committee and on the vocational guidance committee.

Miss Doris was at the birthday celebration for Miss De Lores Fleming on Wenesday December 2, 1936 at the English basement apartment of Miss Ruth Thompson 836 Sedgwick street. There was dancing, and luncheon. The evening activities inclueded "tall tale telling".

The Beta chapter, Alpha Kappa Aipha sorority hosted a Coed fete at Rosenland Gardens social room during March 1938. Doris Martin was one of the chapter member particpating.

Theta Omega chapter sorority sponsored a Career clinic at Little theatre on Saturday evening May 24, 1941 for over 200 junior and senior high school students. Doris Martin was on the Vocational Guidance committee. The last event was a fashion show with the theme "What the modern girl should wear to college."

Members of the Copasettiques Social and Philanthropic club had their photograph take at the Morris Eat shop during the annual midnight installation party for the installed officers. Doris Craddock was installed as president. Ruth Craddock is the left most young woman standing in the photo. The only male in the photo sitting next to Doris Craddock is the sponsors David Minor. The photo is in July 5, 1941 issue of the Chicago Defender on page 18.

The Copposettique celebrated their third installation party at the Y.W.C.A. lodge in Glenview, Illinois with a dinner dance. The installed officers include Ruth Craddock as recording secertary and Doris Craddock as reporter. (reported in April 11, 1942 issue of the Chicago Defender on page 16)

Miss Doris Craddock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. harry B. Craddock, was graduated from Hyde Park high school, has received her A.B. from Lewis institute, and is completing her graduate work at the University of Chicago where she will soon be awared the master of arts degree in social service administration. She work with the dependent children service of Cook County Bureau of publice welfare. She is a very active member of the Coppesttiques Social Club and the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in addition, she recently joined the Dorie Miller chapter of the Women's Defense Corps. Her hobbies include reading, playing brigdes, horse back riding. She prefers men that are good conversationalists and have a good sense of humor.

Mrs. Ruth Craddock Fambro and Miss. Doris Craddock was at bride shower of Miss Margaret V. Smith of 215 Walton place. The shower was given by the Coppasettiques Social club. The current president was Mesdames Ruth Madison Clayton. (reported in December 19, 1942 issue of the Chicago Defender of page 19)

After Doris mother died on March 5, 1970, Some of her mother funiture ended up at Doris home like table with glass top and a cabinet Radio with AM, FM, and shortwave.

Dors Martin married Anthony Gordon July 25, 1979. Anthony lived in a senoir citizen apartment. Doris still lived at her home on 8325 Indiana Avenue. Once Zephyr with Burton drove Doris to Anthony's apartment.

Doris had send Zephyr an invitation to "The Christian Crusaders Present, James G. Martin, Barltone in Concert Sunday Sept 26, 1993, 4:00 PM at Park Manor Church, 600 East 73Rd. St." as guest of Doris V. Martin and Artie Scoll program chair. A post it note from Doris mention James G. Martin is Doris nephew. James was student at Julliard. His big interest is Opera. He have just returned from Austria. He has a beautful voice and shown great promise. I do hope you can attend the concert.
